Othello - Act V

The protagonists in this play are Othello and Cassio, and maybe Desdemona.  These characters are stopped by the antagonist in the play named Iago.  Iago deceives them all and makes them believe what he wants them to.  This play is interesting because most of the monologues are by the antagonist, and the audience really gets to know all of the feelings of the antagonist.  All of this led me to side with Iago throughout the play.  Now, finished reading the book, I am somewhat ashamed of siding with him, but the way Shakespeare wrote the play may have caused this effect.  Before this act, some foil characters of this play were Desdemona and Emilia because Desdemona was outspoken, and Emilia was kind of reserved.  In this act, Emilia becomes a dynamic character after Desdemona dies.  She is the character who puts all the pieces of Iago's stories together and gets Iago in major trouble.  She unravels all of the details in order to determine that he has deceived everyone.
